Where Secret Chords Lives (For Now)

Table of Contents ← Previous Chapter

I haven’t posted Chapter 13 and beyond of Secret Chords on this blog.

That’s not a cliffhanger tactic or a soft launch of a paywall. It’s mostly logistics—and a bit of honesty about how I actually work.

The Simple Truth

Managing releases across multiple platforms is a hassle.

Not in a dramatic way. Just in a very real, very boring way.

Posting chapters as blog entries takes more time than it seems, and when I do that on top of Royal Road, Wattpad, and Patreon, the writing itself starts to slow down.

And slowing down the writing is the one thing I don’t want to do.

Why Blogs Aren’t Ideal for Serial Fiction (For Me)

I like this blog. It’s home base. It’s where context lives.

But I don’t actually think blogs are the most efficient way to publish serial fiction—at least not the way Secret Chords works.

Platforms like Royal Road and Wattpad are built for:

  • reading chapters in order
  • tracking progress
  • returning where you left off
  • and letting me publish without friction

Patreon adds early access, exclusives, and bonus material for anyone who wants to support the work directly.

All of that lets me focus on the one thing that matters most: writing the next chapter.

So What Is This Blog For?

Think of this space as:

  • a teaser hub
  • a reflection space
  • a place for updates, side notes, and context
  • a record of why I’m writing, not just what I’m writing

The story itself continues elsewhere—for now—because that’s what keeps it alive.

Where to Keep Reading

If you’re looking for Chapter 13 and beyond, you can find Secret Chords here:

No pressure. No gatekeeping. Read wherever you’re comfortable.

One Last Thing

This isn’t a permanent decision etched in stone. It’s just the best setup for the current pace of the project.

If this approach lets me write more consistently—and it does—then it’s the right one.

Thanks for reading. Thanks for sticking around. And thanks for being patient with the messy, human side of making things.
